Darbar India Grill & Bar: Authentic Indian Cuisine in Minneapolis

Pretty good mango lassi, less viscous than what I have had before and more tart which was refreshing. Good quantity as well. Very flavorful vegetable samosas, slight bit of kick. The veggies are soft but not mush. The accompanying sauces are tangy and zingy or refreshing with a spicy tone. The garlic naan was stiffer than what I have seen before but still soft and garlicy and buttery The chicken briyani (medium spicy) is well seasoned and well cooked. Comes with some cilantro on top which is new. Good chunks of chicken throughout. There is no spice kick at all, would probably go for hot instead medium next time. The lamb tikka masala (medium spicy) was creamy and fragrant with great flavors. Soft and tender lamb chunks. There is a very dominant ingredient in both scent and taste that I have not noticed with other tikka masalas. Not a bad thing but I can see how it might be overpowering for some people. Also not spicy at all at medium, will need to be hot next time. The light yogurty / sour cream mixture wasn't needed but it was very refreshing and zesty. Not pictured, a healthy portion of rice with the tikka masala.

I've gotten takeout from here a couple times, the food is great and it's always ready fast. The natural is my favorite bread, and I love that they have a ton of vegetarian options. I'll definitely have to make time to dine in sometime because the vibe is so cozy in the restaurant and they have a full bar. Also, they let you pick your spice level - when they say hot they mean it! :)

I absolutely love this restaurant. It's some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The staff are always really sweet also. The atmosphere is nice with the dim lighting and the spot right on Lake Street. The butter chicken, tikka masala, and lamb josh are all incredible.

I came here for the first time, and my experience was great! I ordered the samosa and a few other items. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food arrived very quickly. My partner loved his lamb curry dish, and my friend loved his biryani dish as well. The atmosphere was very laid-back. We arrived at Noon, and it was very easy to find seating. As far as Indian cuisine goes, this place is pretty authentic.

Delivered hot and fresh. Food was delicious a little less spicy than expected, but great flavor. Would definitely order again.

We had a varied set of appetizers and entrees to feed our family which has many dietary restrictions! I regularly place orders for takeaway and have had the ability to customize the dishes so easily. And the food was fantastic, all of it!!! We also appreciated that a staff member helped carry our order out the car when my spouse (with visible mobility issues) was coming back to the car crossing tricky winter walkways. Kudos to all and much gratitude!

Really nice Indian food! Menu has lots of options and plenty of choices. Food was delicious. Biryani and paneer were really good. Roti wasn’t the best but it’s solid. Galub Jamun was the best I’ve ever had. Mango Lassi was good as well. Prices for the food is also extremely reasonable and I appreciate that I don’t feel ripped off by anything. Service was excellent and waiters were kind and attentive. Interior of restaurant looks very clean and well kept. Overall a great experience, and certainly above average for an Indian restaurant! Heavily recommend. Love to see a restaurant doing the right things in Uptown and thriving.
